The island of Lesbos is located in the north-eastern part of the Aegean Sea, just off the Turkish coast at the height of the local resort of Ayvalik. It is separated from the neighboring country by the straits of Muzelim in the north and Mitilini in the east. It is one of the largest Greek islands – its area is 1,630 km² and it is inhabited by approx. 90 thousand people. people.
